The Lewisville Lions had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 74-0 win over Whitmire at home. The result was nothing new for Lewisville, who have now won seven contests by 29 points or more so far this season.
Lewisville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ian Grissom led the charge by throwing for 290 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes. Grissom is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last seven games he's played. Damion Fee was another key contributor, rushing for 128 yards and two touchdowns.
Lewisville's victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.9 points per game. As for Whitmire, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewisville will take on McBee at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th.
