The McCormick Chiefs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season. They blew past Whitmire 65-29 on the road. 65 seems to be a good number for McCormick as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
McCormick got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Terrence Cartledge out in front who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Darius Houston, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
McCormick's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Whitmire, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
McCormick will head out on the road to face off against Saluda at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Saluda will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 261st, while McCormick is ranked 38th). Whitmire will be home for the holidays to greet Lewisville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Lewisville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
