The Hooper Academy Colts lost against the Edgewood Academy Wildcats on January 9th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Hooper Academy took a hard 54-38 fall against Edgewood Academy.
Leading Edgewood Academy to victory were Lindsey Brown and Madison Martin. Brown scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds, while Martin dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. Brown hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexie Smith, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Hooper Academy dropped their record down to 3-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Edgewood Academy, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hooper Academy will face off against Evangel Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Evangel Christian Academy is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Edgewood Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Autauga Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Autauga Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Thursday.
