2A-2 Region II District 5 recap Oct. 16, 2012
Nocona extended the longest winning streak in 2A-2 Region II District 5 this week by beating Alvord, 43-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Nocona.
Jacksboro moved up to 453 from 556 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Tigers climbed the ranks as a result of besting City View 47-12.
Nocona's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Hayden Hill threw for 132 yards and Tate Fenoglio had 37 yards receiving. On the ground Fenoglio chipped in 166 yards.
Nocona's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Nocona feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hill has thrown for 469 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Edward Cardoza has 15 catches for 271 yards. Fenoglio leads the league in rushing with 1060 yards.
A big matchup in 2A-2 Region II District 5 this week will be when Brad Keck's team takes on the Mustangs. The Nocona are in first place, while City View is in seventh place.
Nocona took down the Bulldogs 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Fenoglio threw for three yards in the win.
