Basketball Game Preview: Mundy's Mill Tigers vs. Starr's Mill Panthers

Mundy's Mill has gone 4-0 against Starr's Mill recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Mundy's Mill Tigers duke it out with the Starr's Mill Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Mundy's Mill blew past Harris County, posting a 74-36 win. Given Mundy's Mill's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Harris County is ranked 508th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mundy's Mill's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Christopher Johnson, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and five assists, and Ryan Babb, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. Johnson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Gray, who posted nine points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Starr's Mill didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Northside on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 70-65 victory.

Mundy's Mill's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for Starr's Mill, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Mundy's Mill strolled past Starr's Mill in their previous meeting back in January of 2016 by a score of 67-50. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Starr's Mill's Nate Allison, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds.
