It was a good run, but the St. Thomas Aquinas Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They received a tough blow as they fell 68-51 to Neumann-Goretti.
Neumann-Goretti's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carryn Easley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 assists. Reginna Baker was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
St. Thomas Aquinas' defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Neumann-Goretti, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
St. Thomas Aquinas will be playing at home against South Brunswick at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neumann-Goretti won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Imhotep Charter at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th. Imhotep Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Neumann-Goretti is ranked 17th).
