Olathe North had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Shawnee Mission West with a 53-49 victory on Tuesday.
Olathe North found their leader in underclassman Asia Lee, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Lee also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lailah Austin, who scored eight points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Shawnee Mission North scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Gardner-Edgerton 50-47. The win was just what Shawnee Mission North needed coming off of a 50-22 loss in their prior contest.
Olathe North's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9. As for Shawnee Mission North, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8-1.
Olathe North strolled past Shawnee Mission North in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 49-35. Will Olathe North repeat their success, or does Shawnee Mission North have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
