Payson has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Mountain View Bruins at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Payson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
Payson scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They blew past Timpanogos, posting a 70-29 win at home.
Payson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Avery Roundy led the charge by scoring ten points along with seven steals. Roundy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Oaklie Jackman, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Mountain View unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 51-42 to Orem.
Payson has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Mountain View, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
Payson strolled past the Bruins in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 48-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Payson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
