Autaugaville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Calhoun Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Autaugaville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 78-17 win over Ellwood Christian at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Autaugaville has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, Calhoun took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 88-51 win over Central. Given Calhoun's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Central is ranked 428th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tyler Robertson was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 31 points, 15 rebounds, and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brenterris Managan, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Autaugaville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Calhoun, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.
Autaugaville barely slipped by Calhoun in their previous matchup last Friday, winning 51-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Autaugaville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
