The contest between New Life Christian Academy and Garrett Memorial Christian wasn't particularly close, with New Life Christian Academy falling 71-52. New Life Christian Academy has struggled against Garrett Memorial Christian recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Mikayla Fields, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds for Garrett Memorial Christian. Fields set a new season high mark in steals with six. The team also got some help courtesy of Laikyn Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds.
New Life Christian Academy bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Garrett Memorial Christian, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Life Christian Academy is on the road again on Friday and play against Gospel Light Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Garrett Memorial Christian, they will challenge Cornerstone Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornerstone Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
