Cameron is 1-9 against Tyler since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Dragons will venture away from home to square off against the Knights at 5:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, Cameron came up short against Ravenswood and fell 7-3.
Skye Dobbs was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed over her last three matchups. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Edie Hartley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kendra Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Tyler waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged out the Lumberjacks 8-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Izzie Murray and Leah Carroll did most of the damage at the plate: Murray went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Carroll went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave Carroll a new career-high in RBI (two). Holly Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Tyler kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Cameron's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Tyler, their win bumped their record up to 8-15.
Everything went Cameron's way against Tyler when the teams last played on April 6th, as Cameron made off with a 12-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
