3A District 6 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Mason County extended the longest winning streak in 3A District 6 this week by beating Powell County, 48-21. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Fleming County and Bath County played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Fleming County eventually emerging with a 37-36 victory.
Mason County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Royals feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jake Omara has thrown for 248 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Tee King has 15 catches for 360 yards. Rashaun Nelson leads the league in rushing with 873 yards.
The top two teams in 3A District 6 will face off this week when first place Mason County takes on second place Fleming County. Mason County beat the Pirates last week, while the Panthers defeated the Wildcats.
David Buchanan's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on Powell County.
