The Annapolis Cougars will square off against the Lutheran Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Annapolis has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
It was a proper cat-fight when Annapolis faced off against Redford Union on Monday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 27-17 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Cougars have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Alexis Mousseau and Lexi Harleton did most of the damage at the plate: Mousseau got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI, while Harleton got on base in all five of her plate appearances with seven RBI, four runs, and one stolen base. Harleton is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Sigler, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Annapolis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 17-9 to Whitmore Lake.
Skylar Kaminski and Allie Coleman stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kaminski went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Coleman went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That home run marked the first that Coleman has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Lily Hall, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Annapolis, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Annapolis hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Lutheran struggles in that department as they've averaged .386. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Annapolis suffered a grim 17-9 defeat to Lutheran when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
