The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for John Paul II in their matchups with Holy Cross: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, John Paul II still got an impressive performance from Joseph Mata, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds. Mata has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 16 times he's played. Eliseo Garcia was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds.
It was another big night for Aaron Garcia, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 12 rebounds for Holy Cross. Garcia is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Hernandez, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
John Paul II's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-23. As for Holy Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 15-10.
John Paul II does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Holy Cross, they will head out on the road to challenge Hill Country Christian School of Austin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
