The Sahuaro Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 27 points or more this season. They breezed by Alhambra on the road to the tune of 79-9. Sahuaro's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Sahuaro had a senior duo take command as Cassandra Coolidge scored 18 points along with five rebounds and Kristen Valdez scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The match was Coolidge's third in a row with at least ten points. Maggie Boyd was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Sahuaro and bumps their season record up to 12-1. As for Alhambra, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Shadow Ridge the next time they take the court. Sahuaro will head out to face Shadow Ridge at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Alhambra will head out to face them at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
