The Skyridge Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Ridgeline Riverhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Skyridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Friday, Skyridge didn't have too much trouble with the Cavemen on the road as they won 59-40.
Skyridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cambree Blackham out in front who scored 16 points along with five steals. Blackham is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Shae Toole was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Ridgeline came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Green Canyon 69-22 at home. Ridgeline has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 26 points or more this season.
Ridgeline relied on the efforts of Elise Livingston, who scored 20 points along with three steals, and Emilee Skinner, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Skinner has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Macie Brown, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Skyridge's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Ridgeline, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Skyridge have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Ridgeline struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
