Marietta took their contest against Tishomingo on Thursday by a conclusive 45-18 score. That looming 27-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Marietta yet.
Marietta got off to a slow start in their game last week, but they had no such trouble against Tishomingo as they cruised to a 21-point first half. Tishomingo countered with 12 points, leaving the score at 21-12 going into the half. Marietta's offense just added to that total in the second half en route to their big win.
Marietta's victory brought them up to 3-5. This is the second loss in a row for Tishomingo and nudges their record down to 3-5.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Marietta will take on Davis at 7:30 PM. Unlike Marietta, Davis will be limping in after taking a loss. Tishomingo will look to defend their home turf against Coalgate at 7:30 PM. Tishomingo's defense better steel itself: Coalgate are averaging 34.5 points per game.
