Kent Denver's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caleb Fay led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Fay is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Buchenau, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Massler, who scored 12 points along with three steals. CJ Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
Kent Denver pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.3 points per game. As for The Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Kent Denver will take on the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Colorado Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.8 points per game this season. As for The Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Pumas at 7:00 p.m. Peak to Peak knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully the Wildcats like a good challenge.
