If the Pyramid Lake Lakers were riding high off their 61-33 takedown of the Mountain View Christian Saints last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pyramid Lake was dealt a 70-33 defeat at the hands of Owyhee on Thursday. Pyramid Lake was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Owyhee apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
Despite the loss, Pyramid Lake still got an impressive performance from Takoda Rivers, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. The game was Rivers' third in a row with at least ten points.
Pyramid Lake now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Owyhee, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Pyramid Lake won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bishop Union at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. One thing working in Bishop Union's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Owyhee will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Mammoth at 8:15 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Mammoth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday.
