The Rocklin Thunder will challenge the Inderkum Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Rocklin's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matches.
Rocklin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Golden Valley with a sharp 22-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Thunder, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Payton Prior and Cat Alston were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Prior pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Alston pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. At bat, Prior went 2-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles, while Alston got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Prior a new career-high.
In other batting news, Rocklin got a massive performance out of Brooke Lomelli, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave Lomelli a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Hogue, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Rocklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Inderkum ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Laguna Creek 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 10th.
Anyssa Luttig was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Brielle Collins was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
Rocklin pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Inderkum, their record is now 15-13-1.
Inderkum's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Rocklin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Inderkum, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 strikeouts. Will Rocklin keep running through batters, or will the Tigers buck the trend?
Rocklin skirted past Inderkum 8-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2016. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
