Basketball Recap: Fort Bend Elkins Falls Despite Big Games from Myles Allen and Landon Shotlow

Fort Bend Elkins lost against Fort Bend Bush back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Fort Bend Elkins Knights took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Bend Bush Broncos. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Broncos are ranked 76th).

Landon Shotlow and Myles Allen certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Shotlow went 5 of 10 en route to 19 points, while Allen posted 14 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Shotlow a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Joshua Lord, who had five points and five rebounds.

Fort Bend Elkins has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. As for Fort Bend Bush, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.

Fort Bend Elkins will be playing at home against Fort Bend Dulles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Bend Elkins is facing Fort Bend Dulles at the right time seeing as Fort Bend Dulles is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Fort Bend Bush, they will square off against Fort Bend Travis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Bend Travis will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Fort Bend Bush surely won't give up without a fight.
