The Arkoma Mustangs can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They took down Gans 30-14. The win was just what Arkoma needed coming off of a 21-0 loss in their prior matchup.
Arkoma's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carl Brake, who rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Brake's longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards. Arkoma also got a significant boost from Cayson Chambers, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.
Arkoma's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Gans, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Arkoma will look to defend their home field on Friday against Keota at 7:00 p.m. As for Gans, they will head out on the road to face off against Foyil at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oklahoma (Foyil is ranked 76th, while Gans is ranked 81st).
