Mathias Wagner Has Career Rushing Day
Starting off the list is Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s Mathias Wagner, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Wagner rushed for 250 yards and six touchdowns on only 11 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
The victory (which was Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]'s third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Wagner and Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] will take on Elkhorn Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Stanton Wins 20th-Straight Thanks to Barrett Wilke
Barrett Wilke was instrumental in extending Stanton's winning streak to 20 on Friday. Nobody could stop Wilke as he rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 105 yards and a touchdown on only six passes. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his 13th straight game with at least 124 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Stanton pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Wilke will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge on Friday.

Becker Pohlman Turns in Another Game with at Least 102 Rushing Yards
Becker Pohlman's big game helped extend Stanton's winning streak to 20 on Friday. Pohlman's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards dating back to last season. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making five total tackles.
For the season, Pohlman has averaged 7.7 total tackles per game and for the season has 2 sacks. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 14.57 receiving yards per game. This year he is averaging 27.43 receiving yards.

Karter Lingenfelter continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his fourth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least two rushing touchdowns. He rushed for 62 yards and four touchdowns, and also threw for 194 yards on 16 of 28 attempts.
This year, Lingenfelter has averaged 164.7 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 11 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 60.14 rushing yards.

Mason Nitz put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in September of 2023 on Thursday. He rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 109 yards and a touchdown.
Elkhorn Valley pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Nitz and Elkhorn Valley will host Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
