Football Recap: Edison Skates Past American with Ease

Edison got themselves on the board against American on Monday, but American never followed suit. They blew past the Patriots 45-0. Considering the Red Raiders have won eight matchups by more than 27 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Rakyia Louis had another great game (as she tends to do), throwing for 279 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt. Malayisa David was Louis' top target, picking up 38 receiving yards and three scores.

Edison didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. David led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Camille Canidate got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Edison's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for American, they moved to 7-2 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Edison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for American, they will head out on the road to challenge Hialeah Gardens at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gladiators' defense has only allowed 6.2 points per game this season, so the Patriots' offense will have their work cut out for them.
