Atlantic Coast gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over Ribault. The result was nothing new for the Stingrays, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Atlantic Coast got a massive performance out of Forest Pepperkorn, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave Pepperkorn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Wade Surber, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Atlantic Coast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Baldwin's offense. They lost 10-0 to Trinity Christian Academy on Thursday. The Indians have struggled against the Conquerors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Cooper Farah was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
Atlantic Coast pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Baldwin, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
Baldwin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Atlantic Coast has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .434.
