The Simon Kenton Pioneers will head out on the road to face off against the Conner Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Simon Kenton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Simon Kenton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 80-43 victory over Raceland. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-22.
Simon Kenton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Travis Krohman out in front who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Polly, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Conner's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 66-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aiken.
Simon Kenton's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Conner, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-9 record last season and are now at 1-5.
Simon Kenton and Conner were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January, but Simon Kenton came up empty-handed after a 72-71 defeat. Can Simon Kenton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
