The Ashbrook Greenwave managed to keep up with the Crest Chargers until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Ashbrook suffered a  tough 77-52 loss at the hands of Crest. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest  points Ashbrook has scored all season.
 Several Greenwave players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Kenneth Greene Jr, who  scored seven points along with ten  rebounds. That's the first time this season that  Greene Jr  pulled down eight or more   rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Issac Byers Jr, who  scored nine points along with five  assists and five  rebounds.
 Crest's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   King Rhodes, who  scored 25 points along with nine  rebounds and two  steals. Rhodes hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was  Aj Adams, who  scored 17 points along with seven  assists.
 This is  the second loss in a row for Ashbrook and  nudges their season record down to 10-2. As for Crest, the  win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
 Ashbrook on the road again  on Friday and play against Forestview at 7:30  p.m.  on January 12th. Forestview will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 294th, while Ashbrook is ranked 36th). As for Crest, they will look to defend their home court  on Friday against Stuart W. Cramer at 7:30  p.m. Stuart W. Cramer has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
