Volleyball Recap: Gulf Coast's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

Gulf Coast entered their tilt with Marco Island Academy on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Rays 3-0.

While Gulf Coast won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-18, 25-21.

Sophia Schultz paced Gulf Coast's offense, picking up 11 kills. Schultz got some help from Vanessa Lange and her 36 assists. Juliette VanWagner controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the loss, Marco Island Academy still got an impressive performance from Sophia Ogdin, who had 21 digs and four assists. Ogdin has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played. Kolbie Bernhardt also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Gulf Coast's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Marco Island Academy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.

Looking ahead, Gulf Coast will head out to take on Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marco Island Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Community School of Naples at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
