Baseball Recap: Forest Hill Comes Up Short

After flying high against Provine last Tuesday, Forest Hill came back down to earth. The Forest Hill Patriots fell just short of the South Pike Eagles by a score of 13-11 on Tuesday. The Patriots have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Donelle Beauchamp made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Forest Hill is 2-1 when Beauchamp posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Charles Barry Jr., who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Forest Hill's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for South Pike, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

Looking ahead, Forest Hill will challenge Provine at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Pike has already played their next matchup (against Hazlehurst), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
