Granger is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while West is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lancers will welcome the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Granger's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 54-0 win over Hunter. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Lancers had established a 38-point advantage.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Granger to victory, but perhaps none more so than Owen Griffin, who threw for 267 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Griffin's passing game has become a key predictor of the Lancers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Mateni Puamau was Griffin's top target, picking up 70 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 59 yards and one TD.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Granger proved: they limited Hunter to a paltry 0.7 yards per carry. While six picked up at least one total tackle, Puamau stood above the rest. He picked up 70 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 59 yards and one score. Granger didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.9.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for West on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew West Jordan out of the water with a 63-0 final score.
Granger better keep an eye on Kamden Lopati. He was instrumental in West's win, throwing for 349 yards and six TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also rushing for 60 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. Thanks to that big game, Lopati is now up to 26 passing touchdowns on the season. Mani Tu'Uao was another key player, picking up 102 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
West didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Elijah Lutui and Justice Reed.
Granger's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for West, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Granger has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 219.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like West struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 248.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Granger was taken down by West 42-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
