The Horeb Christian Mustangs were the 72-62 winner over the Pinecrest Glades Academy Dragons when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Horeb Christian took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pinecrest Glades Academy on Friday. Horeb Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Horeb Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Manny Cid, Jr., who scored 17 points. Jonathan Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Pinecrest Glades Academy had a senior duo take command as Andrey Alvarez scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals and Brandon Diaz scored 12 points. The matchup was Diaz's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Keith Hernandez, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Horeb Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Pinecrest Glades Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Horeb Christian's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Pinecrest Prep at 4:00 p.m. on December 11th. Hopefully Pinecrest Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday. As for Pinecrest Glades Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
