Basketball Recap: Plainview Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Plainview hadn't done well against Humphrey-Lindsay recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Plainview Pirates walked away with a 54-45 victory over the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on three straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Plainview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Karter Lingenfelter, who en route to 16 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacson King, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Plainview was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They racked up six more assists than Humphrey-Lindsay's also-impressive total of 11.

When it comes to explaining why Humphrey-Lindsay lost, don't look at Owen Kurtenbach. Despite the final result, he on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds. The game was Kurtenbach's eighth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Caden Brandl, who to rack up 16 points.

Plainview's record now sits at 15-7. As for Humphrey-Lindsay, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Plainview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 47-39 defeat against Elkhorn Valley on the 25th. As for Humphrey-Lindsay, they have also already played their next contest, a 63-24 victory against Madison on the 24th.
