Spring Hill and Pine Tree are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2019, but likely not for long. The Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spring Hill will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Spring Hill saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over Granbury.

Lila Peters made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Dees, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Aubreigh Whiddon was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
Spring Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in 15 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Pine Tree's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sulphur Springs on Saturday. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Pine Tree saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Cunningham, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.
Spring Hill's record now sits at 16-5. As for Pine Tree, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Spring Hill's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Panthers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Pine Tree, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Spring Hill continue to outrun the ball?
Spring Hill skirted past Pine Tree 13-11 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
