Leilani Oyola made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Oyola was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Payne Tech let Olivia Mendez and Marisela Sanabria run wild. Mendez scored three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Sanabria scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. What's more, Mendez posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ayliana Hernandez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
