Softball Recap: Coppell Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Coppell had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Trinity Trojans by a score of 8-4. The Cowboys have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

Lily Bowen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had over her last nine matchups.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kimber Kerrigan, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Carter, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Coppell's win bumped their record up to 9-5-1. As for Trinity, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-1 record this season.

Coppell wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-7 victory against Bell on the 1st. As for Trinity, they have also already played their next game, a 4-3 win against Allen on the 1st.
