Bishop Kenny is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Menendez 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Crusaders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-11, 25-14.
Among those leading the charge was Lauren McCarthy, who had 13 digs.
Meanwhile, Wakulla made easy work of Pensacola on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.
Wakulla walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-20, 25-17.
Wakulla's win came from a few key players Bishop Kenny will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Leila Parsons, who had four digs and three aces. Those three aces gave her a new career-high.
Wakulla was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive matches.
Wakulla's victory bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Bishop Kenny, their win bumped their record up to 18-10.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's matchup: Bishop Kenny has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Wakulla struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
