The Ross Little Giants's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They fell to Springfield 49-44. Ross was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Springfield apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Springfield was led to victory by Camren Whitmire and Kai Taylor. Whitmire scored 11 points, while Taylor scored 12 points along with two steals. Aaron Adams was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Ross has not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Springfield, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-13.
Ross will head out on the road to face off against Clay at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ross is coming into the matchup with seven straight losses on the road, meaning Clay will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Springfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bowling Green at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
