The Northstar Christian Academy Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 66-65 photo finish over Vertus. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Vertus lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Reginald Pough, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dah'mere Brown, who scored 12 points.
Northstar Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Vertus, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-10.
Northstar Christian Academy will challenge School of the Arts at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vertus, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bishop Kearney at 6:00 p.m. Bishop Kearney knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Vertus likes a good challenge.
