The Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats will be playing at home against the Yorktown Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of five wins, Skidmore-Tynan's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Port Aransas.
Defeat or not, Skidmore-Tynan got some senior leadership from Bennett Martinez and Cole Rivers. Martinez scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, while Rivers. scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals. Rivers hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games.
Skidmore-Tynan struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Yorktown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 18th straight loss. They were dealt a 61-32 defeat at the hands of Refugio. Yorktown has struggled against the Bobcats recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Skidmore-Tynan's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-5. As for Yorktown, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-19.
Skidmore-Tynan took their win against the Wildcats in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 65-43. Does Skidmore-Tynan have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
