After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Teton, the South Fremont Cougars were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They strolled past Marsh Valley with points to spare, taking the game 58-41. Given South Fremont's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Marsh Valley is ranked 98th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brianne Bailey was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of South Fremont's points.
South Fremont's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Marsh Valley, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
South Fremont will head out on the road to take on Sugar-Salem at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Sugar-Salem focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Friday. As for Marsh Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against American Falls at 7:30 p.m. American Falls is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
