Softball Recap: Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts Extends Winning Streak to Three

Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts entered their tilt with Howard Tech on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Hustlin' Tigers 12-1. Considering the Eagles have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

LILY THOMPSON was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on TORI WILLIAMS, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. EMERY HENDERSON was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Howard Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts will face off against Sale Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Howard Tech, they will venture away from home to challenge Ooltewah at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Owls' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Hustlin' Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
