Basketball Recap: Pettisville's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was fun while it lasted, but Pettisville's undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Friday. They took a 39-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Archbold Blue Streaks. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Blackbirds came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Blue Streaks are ranked 361st).

Having lost for the first time this season, Pettisville fell to 7-1. As for Archbold, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Pettisville and St. John's will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. St. John's knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Pettisville likes a good challenge. As for Archbold, they will square off against Edon at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
