Neodesha is 0-10 against Humboldt since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Neodesha Blue Streaks will head out on the road to face off against the Humboldt Cubs. Neodesha is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
On Tuesday, things could have been worse for Neodesha, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-40 loss to West Elk. Neodesha has struggled against West Elk recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Humboldt put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 62-36 margin over Marmaton Valley. Given Humboldt's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Marmaton Valley is ranked 163rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Humboldt got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Colden Cook out in front who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for Cook. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Hull, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Neodesha now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Humboldt, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Neodesha was dealt a bruising 64-30 loss at the hands of Humboldt in their previous meeting back in February. Thankfully for Neodesha, Trey Sommer (who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
