Southampton is a perfect 10-0 against Greensville County since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Indians will host the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Southampton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Thursday, Southampton got the win against Surry County by a conclusive 15-2. Considering the Indians have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Anne Jackson Pope made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natasha Melbye, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Amara Triplett was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.
Southampton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Surry County only posted a batting average of .211.
Meanwhile, Greensville County got themselves on the board against Franklin on Thursday, but Franklin never followed suit. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Broncos 1-0. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Greensville County pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Southampton, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Everything went Southampton's way against Greensville County when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Southampton made off with a 16-4 victory. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
