Taylor won the last time they faced Gateway College Preparatory and things went their way on Friday too. The Ducks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Gators. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ducks.

Tayden Talley made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Talley was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Talley wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Trey Stromberg, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Taylor's win bumped their record up to 5-15-1. As for Gateway College Preparatory, they dropped their record down to 6-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Taylor will square off against Marble Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ducks are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Gateway College Preparatory, they will take on Jarrell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.57 runs per game on average), something the Gators will no doubt try to take advantage of.
