Basketball Recap: Bell Takes a Loss

Bell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 72-26 loss at the hands of the Woodson Warriors. The Griffins lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 49-46 score last time.

Bell lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cire Wilson, who posted four points and 12 boards. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermon Holliman, who put up eight points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Bell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Bell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Woodson, they moved to 1-3 with that victory, which also ended their 11-game losing streak.

Bell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-59 win against Anacostia on the 20th. As for Woodson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 70-43 loss against Bard on the 20th.
