The Marbury Bulldogs were the 53-31 winner over the Tallassee Tigers when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The New Year welcomed Marbury with a 58-25 whooping from Tallassee on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Marbury has scored all season.
Marbury lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gabrielle Brown , who scored 16 points. Nasiyah Jernigan was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Marbury are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6. As for Tallassee, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marbury will take on Holtville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holtville's defense has only allowed 27 points per game this season, so Marbury's offense will have their work cut out for Marbury. As for Tallassee, they will be playing at home against Lanier at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
