The Herrin Tigers will head out on the road to  take on  the Murphysboro Red Devils at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Herrin has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 19.
 Herrin pushed their score all the way to ten on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took  a  13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carterville.
  LEX GARNER made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  NICK HUBBARD, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Murphysboro had just enough and edged Centralia out  3-2 on Saturday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Murphysboro.
  Austin Hunter tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched.
 On the hitting side,  Gage Taylor was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  William Bess, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Herrin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14-1. As for Murphysboro, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record  this season.
 Herrin skirted past Murphysboro  6-5 when the teams last played  back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Herrin since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
