ROSEVILLE, Calif. - the Knights scored 27 points in the second quarter to secure a big 41-3 victory over Oakmont (Roseville, Calif.) on Saturday.
Rio Linda scored on four rushing touchdowns in the quarter, including one by
Stephen Andrews.
After taking the lead on a
Marcel Brown touchdown run in the first quarter, RL led 41-0 at the half.
With the win the Knights extended their winning streak to eight games. Rio Linda defeated Casa Roble 35-21 last week.
Rio Linda came into the game allowing 10.5 points per game. The three points that the Vikings ended with were well below their average of 26.6 coming into the game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 55-28 win for RL.
The defeat comes as a step back for Oakmont, which notched a 49-33 victory over Bella Vista in its previous outing.
Oakmont (3-6) goes up against Casa Roble in a Capital Valley Conference game matchup next week, while Rio Linda (8-1) locks horns with Del Campo also in a Capital Valley Conference game.
