Basketball Recap: Mesa Skates Past Queen Creek with Ease

Mesa had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed past the Queen Creek Bulldogs to the tune of 79-38. The victory continues a trend for the Jackrabbits in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Mesa found their leader in sophomore Jakyi Miles, who shot 58% from the field on his way to 40 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Daijon Grayson, who went 6-for-9 en route to 14 points along with eight assists and five steals.

Queen Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Mesa will square off against Arcadia at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Queen Creek, they will host Buckeye at 7:00 p.m. on December 3.
